When Raghunath is taking away the missionaries, they are confronted by the subjects of Jhansi. A man in the crowd named Bakshish Ali voices his anger against the British. Ghaus Khan tells Raghunath that Bakshish Ali once worked for the British but had turned against them when the British had killed his family. Bakshish Ali and Ghaus Khan get into a war of words with the former inciting the crowd to attack the missionaries because they were responsible for the prince losing his voice but Raghunath stops them and asks them to heed their queen. Ghaus Khan asks them to wait for the queen's decision.
