Ларс пропонує Йоргену зробити п'ять римейків його класичної короткометражки 1967 року "Ідеальна людина", при кожному римейку виконуючи ряд умов і обходячи ряд перешкод, придуманих фон Трієром. Той погоджується. У Лета з Трієром вийшов навіть не зовсім фільм, а свого роду концептуальний продукт.
