американський кінорежисер і продюсер італійського походження, лауреат премії «Оскар» (1935, 1937, дві премії у 1939).
У роки Другої Світової війни Капра працював для США заради перемоги, випустивши вісім документальних військових фільмів. У 1944 році він повертається до комедії, знявши «Миш'як і старі мережива» з Кері Ґрантом. У 1946 знімає свій найвідоміший фільм «Це прекрасне життя» (який у змаганні за «Оскаром» поступився фільму «Найкращі роки нашого життя»).
