Фільм розповідає про маловідомий, але визначальний період життя Марлона Брандо, коли на початку 1960-х років він назавжди закохується у Французьку Полінезію під час зйомок стрічки «Бунтівники з “Баунті”». Відчувши втому від Голлівуду та власної слави, Брандо знаходить на атолі Тетіароа, неподалік Таїті, місце, яке стає для нього не просто притулком, а новим сенсом життя. Далеко від червоних доріжок і студійних інтриг, він намагається втілити сміливу мрію — створити сучасний, екологічний простір майбутнього, співпрацюючи з архітектором Бернардом Джаджем.
