Unknown to Manu, Motibai steals the letter to prevent Gangadhar Rao from learning the truth about her, and plans to send a letter to the king in Manus name. Tatya Guru offers gifts to the King of Jhansi ahead of the wedding. Gangadhar Rao spots a letter and instructs Dixit to read it. The contents of the letter shock Dixit. Motibai, who rejoices in anticipation of the success of her plan, is in for a shock, when Dixit astutely starts praising the king. When Tatya Guru learns from Dixit that Manu had in fact opposed marrying Gangadhar Rao in the letter, he seeks an explanation from her.
