Welcome to the 70th Episode of Collider’s Heroes, hosted by Jon Schnepp, with guests John Campea, Amy Dallen, and special guest Jeremy Jahns. On this episode of Collider’s Heroes (Wednesday August 16th, 2016) we discuss: -Spider-Man Homecoming adds new villain -Jason Momoa cast in The Crow -Shazam will be a part of the DCEU -Kevin Smith and Joss Whedon come to CW for Supergirl/Flash -Minor Mutations -Flashback - Dredd -Spotlight: Ben Edlund -Twitter questions Spiderman: Homecoming gets a third villain, and a marvel crossover! So we pretty much can guess that Michael Keaton is playing the Vulture, but now word comes that Bokeem Woodbine is playing The Shocker, and both of these villains are getting their power suits from a disgruntled Tony Stark employee codenamed The Tinkerer, played by Michael Chernus! Jason Momoa will be the brand new Crow! So Jason Momoa has had his fair share of playing superheroes with Conan and now Aquaman, but it looks like he will be playing one of the darkest and gothiest superheroes ever if he does indeed play Eric Draven aka The Crow! He let it leak on his instagram that he is in final talks to take on the role to be directed by Corbin Hardy based very closely to James O’ Barr’s comic series. Shazam! Will be part of the DCEU As we move forward in production of feature films in the DCEU, “Shazam” has finally said they will indeed be part of this shared cinematic universe. Dany Garcia, Dwayne Johnson’s manager stated “It needs to be of the world, You’ve got Justice League, Wonder Woman with a different director, so you’re going to see different points of view.” They have complete autonomy, but will make sure that the idea of Batman and Superman and the other heroes existing in the same world as Shazam. Kevin Smith directs “Supergirl Lives”, Joss Whedon directing Musical Crossover for Flash/Supergirl! It looks like a great year for TV’s DC universe, as two great directors head over to direct some episodes. First, we’ve got Kevin Smith directing a Supergirl episode aptly named “Supergirl Lives”, as a tip of the cape to his “Superman Lives” screenplay he wrote, which you can find out all about in my documentary movie “The Death of ‘Superman Lives’; What Happened? Then we’ve got Joss Whedon directing and rocking crossover Musical episodes with The Flash and Supergirl, in the tradition of his Buffy and Dr.Horribles Singalong. Minor Mutations Flashback - Dredd (2012) Spotlight: Ben Edlund Twitter Questions
