Ернст Вільгельм «Вім» Вендерс. — став відомим на міжнародному рівні як один з піонерів світового кіна у 1970-х роках і вважається однією з найважливіших постатей у сучасному німецькому кінематографі. Вім Вендерс вивчав медицину та філософію, перш ніж переїхав у Париж 1966 року, щоб вивчати живопис. Хоча він нібито проходив стажування в студії графічного дизайнера і гравера Джонні Фрідлендера, він проводив свої дні та вечори у Французькій Сінематеці.
