Сімнадцятирічний Кенджі Койсо – юний програміст і математик – почувається в ОЗ набагато впевненіше, ніж в реальності. І під час літніх канікул пише код для одного з віртуальних сервісів мережі. Одного дня Нацукі-семпай пропонує Кейджі альтернативний підробіток – поїхати з нею до маэтка Джіноучі, який розташований у префектурі Наґано, на святкування 90-річчя матріарха клану з метою допомогти їй у домашніх справах.
