Sangele (Dulani) is a girl who lives alone in a village of people . People in the city are trying to get close to her some even making sexual advances. Punchi Malli (Sanath) is very attracted to Sangile, even though he is married. Meanwhile, a hard working young Sunimal (Saranga) falls in love with Sangile. Punchi Malli was falsely accused in due to a rumor and sent to jail. During this time, Punchi Malli raped Sangile and Punchi Malli's wife (Veena) get to know about the hidden truth. She tried to blame Sangile for dirty works, however Punchi Malli punished her. Sangile gets pregnant and story continues.

Rathane Aiya lives in the neighborhood with a mother and two sons Jayasena and Siripala. The day before the Poya, Siripala kills his older brother. Rathne is the prime suspect and arrested. He is sentenced to death on the gallows. While awaiting death, he confesses his bad behavior during his past. He thrived in terrorizing the village with ill-gotten money and power. Ranmalee, a village girl talented in both music and dancing meets the son (Praveen) of a businessman who are on a visit to Ranmalee's village in search of a site to build their new hotel. Even though they had developed feelings for each other, Praveen's family doesn't accept their relationship. Meanwhile, Ranmalee comes across a photographer who's a friend of a leading entrepreneur (Sapumal) in the music industry and he helps her join Sapumal's dancing troupe. Ranmalee becomes very famous with her debut productions and Sapumal catches feelings for her.
