Веслі Раґґлз — американський режисер.
Народився у Лос-Анджелесі (Каліфорнія), молодший брат актора Чарльза Раґґлза. Почав свою кар'єру актора німого кіна у 1915 році, з'явившись у декількох десятках німих фільмів, у тому числі декількох фільмах за участю Чарлі Чапліна («Потрійна неприємність», «За екраном», «Позикова каса», «Контролер універмагу»). З 1917 року почав займатися режисурою. Веслі поставив близько 50 фільмів, у тому числі одну з кіноверсій романа Едіт Вортон «Епоха невинності», більш ... ість з яких не привернули уваги публіки і критиків. У 1931 році поставив фільм «Сімаррон», адаптацію роману Едни Фербер про життя мериканських поселенців в преріях Оклахоми, який став першим вестерном, який виграв премію Американської кіноакадемії за найкращий фільм. Хоча він частково розвинув свій успіх, знявши легку комедію «Складний чоловік» (1932) з Кларком Ґейблом і Керол Ломбард у головних ролях, комедію «Я не ангел» (1933) з Мей Вест і Кері Ґрантом у головних ролях, «Школа гумору» (1933) з Бінґом Кросбі і «Балеро» (1934) з Джроджем Плотом і Керол Ломбард, наступні фільми були менш вдалими, за винятком фільму «Аризона» (1940). Його кар'єра йшла на спад, коли він у 1946 році уклав контракт з кінокомпанією «Rank Organisation», для якої поставив і спродюсував за власним сценарієм фільм «Місто Лондон» (1941) з участю акторів Сіда Філда і Петули Кларк.
