Сюжет (англ.)

The protagonist (Rudolf Hrusinsky) is a dull, fat, shy government clerk indulging in voyuerism and ego fantasies. In love with another clerk (Kveta Fiolova), he is urged on in his pursuit by a commiserate executive. The story is told in a flashback sequence as the cuckolded Hrusinsky attempts suicide by gassing himself in his bathtub. The "Murder" of the title is not a murder as such, rather the murder that Hrusinsky remembers planning upon discovering his wife's unfaithfulness with his supposed friend and advisor. Both plots failing in his mind, he loses himself in fantastic reveries of his funeral and of hypocritical mourners. ' Deciding (perhaps) that this is not the way out either, he gives up the attempt and imagines a life of reconciliation and eventual affluence.

Сюжет

Пародія на містичні детективи, зокрема - на досить відомий фільм «Колодязь і маятник» (1961). Музикант симфонічного оркестру оперного театру під час вистави, на якій виконується опера Жоржа Бізе «Кармен», читає англійський детектив. Ця книга справляє на нього сильне враження. Таке, що він уявляє себе її героєм, сером Моррісом, власником готичного замку. А далі відбуваються загадкові вбивства і зникнення, інтриги і т.п.

LOVE HARVESTS IN SUMMER seems to anticipate 4 years the wrongful intrusion of the soviet tanks. And with the style of WEST SIDE STORY, puts music, color and emotion surrounding the born of a mate, first love in a youngs school, quite outdated and square. The movie ends better than "WEST SIDE" and even better than the sad czechoslovakian story. The scenes of the hops harvest to make the famous czech beer, the sky ever blue and all the conflict and debate that emerge in the czech society and inside of each member of the school, could have found an answer, flowering a little late in the so called czech spring.
