Одного разу, в звичайному будинку, в звичайному місті, разом з бабусею жили Том і Еллі. І все у них було добре до тих пір, поки Снігова королева не вирішила перетворити весь світ у своє льодове царство. Вона створила чарівне дзеркало, яке відбивало б промені Сонця, і звеліла вірним тролям віднести його на високу гору. Але незграбні слуги розбили дзеркало на дрібні шматочки, що розлетілися по всьому світу. Два найменших осколки потрапили Тому в очі - і він став бачити біле чорним, і в серці - воно стало злим і холодним.
