Before the war, in Berlin, Adam was an entertainer- cabaret impresario, magician, musician-loved by all until he finds himself in a concentration camp, confronted by Commandant Klein. Adam survives the camp by becoming the Klein's "dog", entertaining him while his wife and daughter are sent off to die. У вересні 1972 р. палестинська терористична організація “Чорний вересень” провела свою гучну операцію, розправившись з ізраїльськими спортсменами на Олімпіаді в Мюнхені. Переговори зі злочинцями продовжувались майже добу. Від пропозиції взяти містечко штурмом відмовились, бо всі події транслювались у прямому ефірі. Міністр внутрішніх справ ФРН пообіцяв випустити терористів з заручниками і дати їм літак, тоді як поліція підготувала пастку на аеродромі. Плануючи операцію, поліція чомусь вважала, що терористів всього п’ятеро. В результаті загинули всі заручники, п’ятеро терористів, пілот та поліцейський.

Ruthie calls Or "my treasure," but Ruthie is a burden. She's just out of hospital, weak, and Or has found her a job as a house cleaner. The call of the quick money on the street is tough for Ruthie to ignore. Or's emotions roil further when the mother of the youth she's in love with comes to the flat to warn her off. With love fading and Ruthie perhaps beyond help, Or's choices narrow.
