Policegiri movie is the remake of Tamil movie Sammy.Sanjay Dutt (Rudra) is playing the role of a rough neck cop with a bit of both the bad cop-good cop act which also gives comic touch in his character, whereas Prachi Desai (Sehar) will wear the image of a girl next door and is a software engineer who falls in love with Dutt and marries him.Rudra is a tough and charismatic Deputy Commissioner of police of a small town called Amalapur in Hyderabad.His mission statement is to, clean up the city of the scum of the earth and make sure that the public live in peace undisturbed.Seeing his macho looks, brave heart and honest nature, Sehar an unconventional beauty falls in love with him. But off the record, Rudra adapts a new policy of adjusting with the local goons so that he can serve the people in an effective way.Nagori Subramaniyam (Prakash Raj), is an underworld don(Kingmaker) who has the total control of Southern states, both in politics as well as Rowdyism.

After his mother passes away, Mumbai-based Deshu returns from Dubai to condole his married sister, Kumud, and retired police constable father, but becomes embroiled with the police as well as the underworld after he witnesses a brutal homicide. Hounded by both the police and goons affiliated to Mangli, he decides to enter the criminal world of Hashimbhai, a rival of the later, and begins his career by killing Mangli. His rise in the gang is phenomenal, and his association with Bollywood beauty, Bhakti Bhatnagar, creates jealously amongst Hashim's sons, Shabbir and Muqarram, who also feel demoralized and threatened, and use every opportunity to instigate their father against him, while the Mumbai Police assign 'Encounter Specialist' Inspector Razaak the task of doing away with Deshu.

Their love life was shattered by an angry sage who cursed them with separation until the 21st century. Divya, who was called Vasundhara in her previous life, dies after this curse, and is reborn as Divya. Now seeing Divya dying, Kapil swears to avenge her death by killing them one by one. Divya does die, but her spirit has survived and joins Kapil to avenge her humiliation and death, not against the two members, but against all the male members. Soon death visits the friends one by one, and no one can stop the killing.
