Головний герой, Макс, чоловік середнього віку, який схиблений на комп'ютерних іграх. І щоб ніколи не відмовлятися від улюбленого заняття, він влаштувався працювати в компанію з тестування нових іграшок. Зараз йому необхідно провести тестування нової гри, він почне в неї грати і зрозуміє, що гра не звичайнісінька, незрозумілим для нього чином вона пов'язана з реальністю. В результаті те, що відбувається у віртуальному ігровому світі, потім і по-справжньому трапляється. Макс стане непрямим винуватцем деяких нехороших речей і це буде необхідно якось виправляти. Після цієї ситуації головний герой починає замислюватися про те, що можливо і попередні ігри, в які він грав насправді були реальними, і він цього просто не помічав.
