Сюжет

Екранізація твору Чарльза Діккенса «Різдвяна пісня» (A Christmas Carol, 1841) - класичної різдвяної історії про скнару на ім'я Скрудж, якого хвилюють лише гроші. Скрудж до всіх ставиться зі презирством, не має друзів і навіть відмовився від єдиного свого родича - племінника Фреда. Він навчився відмовляти не тільки іншим, але й собі самому, живучи в холодній квартирі, харчуючись звичайною юшкою і не радіючи навіть такому святу як Різдво, вважаючи цю пору марною тратою грошей і часу. Однак у різдвяну ніч з'являются духи Різдва - вони відкривають Скруджу очі на його минуле, сьогодення та майбутнє. Скрудж усвідомлює, що в гонитві за багатством позбувся головного: щастя любити і бути коханим.
