1979 рік, Нідерланди. Френкі - 17-річний хлопець з сім'ї Анни та Сімона Апштейнів - єврея, який за часів II Світової Війни провів життя в'язенем фашистських концтаборів, які залишили по собі багато страшних спогадів та відмітину у вигляді порядкового номеру на руці. Весь вільний час Френкі проводить зі своїми друзями панк-рокерами, відвідує рок-клуби, де разом з темношкірим другом Джефрі перебуває у бізнесових відносинах з володільцем клубу, де вони за половину виручки займаються торгівлею наркотиків. Після виявлення у матері Френкі раку, його нестійкі складні відносини з батьком погіршуються, і головний герой примикає до банди скінхедів - неонацистів, з якими він бере участь у рейдах-погромах, внаслідок чого неодноразово потрапляяє до поліцейского відділку. Але зв'язок зі скінхедами прериває його відносини з другом Джефрі та його матір'ю. Під час одної сутички з групою темношкірих людей африканського походження Френк вдаряє одного із супротивників ножем, внаслідок чого він помирає. За це головний герой потрапляє до в'язниці, де також потрапляє у сутички з агресивно-налаштованою проти неонацистів групою темношкірих в'язнів, серед яких є його минулий друг Джефрі. В наслідок спровокованої Френком сутички, один з групи темношкірих вдаряє гоовного герою заточкою, внаслідок чого головний герой помирає.

Dennis van der Horst is a kind-hearted young entrepreneur. He lives by the rules of the street. When Dennis gets the chance to obtain an extremely expensive but lucrative taxi-license, he seizes it. In the presence of the manager of MOTAX, the only taxi company in Amsterdam, Dennis borrows a very large sum of money. Dennis is beside himself with joy. The hustling is over. Soon however Dennis finds out that there was a reason why it was so easy for him to obtain such a scarce license. The law is being altered, allowing competition on the taxi market. The licenses of Dennis and many of his colleagues all at once become worthless. As of that moment there is a war going on in the streets of Amsterdam. Dennis gets deeper into trouble when he finds out that he has unwittingly become part of the criminal organization behind MOTAX. Even the police turn out to have secret ties with MOTAX and there is only one thing left for Dennis to do in order to free himself: confront the man who is pulling the strings

A rookie policeman is coerced into obtaining secret information from a childhood friend turned gangster. The childhood friend turns informant. But his revelations are hardly the most important "leaks" in the story. In fact, the new relationship between old friends goes all wrong, and the young policeman becomes increasingly involved in a deadly web of lies, crimes, treason, and revenge, all seemingly out of control.
