Шері, чиї мрії про Голлівуд і славу перериваються реальністю міста Фенікс. У кафі "Синій Дракон" у Феніксі ми знайомимося з Бо, веселим ковбоєм, що приїхав у місто брати участь у родео. Він грубо змушує своїх гучних дружків замовчати, коли співає Шері, й одержує в нагороду безневинний поцілунок подяки. Із цього моменту він рішуче настроєний взяти її за дружину, незважаючи на всі її протести й презирство його вірного дружка Верджила. Шері навіть сідає на автобус, щоб бігти з міста, але Бо відправляється слідом.
