Інґмар Берґман — шведський режисер театру й кіно, сценарист, письменник, один з провідних творців авторського кіно XX сторіччя.
Здійснив постановки понад шістдесяти художніх та документальних фільмів для кіно і телебачення, при цьому він був автором сценарію до більшості з них. Також на його рахунку більше ста сімдесяти театральних постановок. Починаючи з 1953 року сформувалась багаторічна плідна співпраця Берґмана з кінооператором Свеном Нюквістом. У фільмах Берґмана часто знімалис ... ь Гаррієт Андерссон, Лів Ульман, Ґуннар Бьорнстранд, Бібі Андерссон, Інґрід Тулін та Макс фон Сюдов.

Bergman and the Theatre is about some of Bergman's 125 theatrical stagings and about his delight with the TV medium with successes as Scenes from a marriage. In Bergman and Fårö Island he talks about the childhood that shaped him. He shows where he shot his film Persona and fell in love - and he lists his worst demons!
