Тим, хто любить балет, цікаво буде побачити чудового танцівника Михайла Баришнікова, який в 70-і роки виїхав з СРСР на Захід. Антон Сергєєв (Баришніков), зірка балету зі світовим ім'ям, приїжджає в Італію на зйомки кіноверсії балету "Жізель". Незабаром в трупі з'являється молода американська танцівниця Лайза Стрессер, яка і повинна танцювати Жизель. Сергєєв закохується в Лайзу, що відбивається на його відносинах з іншими учасниками трупи. Самій же Лайзі незабаром судилося пережити те ж, що і її героїні Жизель.
