Пригоди на тебе можуть чекати де завгодно. Семирічного Йоханнеса вони знаходять у кухонній шафі, адже сам там він натрапляє на маленького чоловічка. Виявляється, що це не гном, не лепрекон, не гобіт, а Віплала. Як і всі інші представники його крихітного роду, він володіє спеціальними чарами – може заблимувати, тобто обертати на камінь або зменшувати все навколо. Але оскільки він недостатньо добре вчився, то він може зачаровувати лише в одному напрямку. In fact, the new relationship between old friends goes all wrong, and the young policeman becomes increasingly involved in a deadly web of lies, crimes, treason, and revenge, all seemingly out of control.
