Adhi (Dulquer) a happy-go-lucky lad, bumps into Tara (Nithya Menon), a bubbly girl loaded with energy and fall in love. Sivakumar (Vishal) is an ordinary guy working in a mobile service center in small town Madurai, who falls for a school teacher (Lakshmi Menon). His father (Bharathiraja), a retired government employee shows much care on Sivakumar's elder brother. Meanwhile there is big mafia gang led by a tough guy Simmakkal Ravi(Sharath Lohitashwa), who rules Madurai with an iron fist. Sivakumar's brother, an honest government officer gets into his bad books and is bumped off. Now, the helpless father and the meek son draw up separate plans to eliminate the bad guy.

The film begins in a Christian seminary where two principle characters, Sam Fernandez (Arvind Swamy) a devoted good man meets Bergman (Arjun), who is more interested in having a good time. They have serious differences and choose different paths. Sam takes the way leading to the lord while Bergman takes to smuggling and other nefarious activities. Sam comes to a coastal village as a local priest and reforms a wayward young boy Thomas (Gautham Karthik), who becomes very close to him. Thomas falls in love with Beatrice (Thulasi Nair), an innocent girl. Due to certain machinations of Bergman, the poor priest Sam is framed and sent to jail. The satanic Bergman also brings Thomas under his tutelage and the truth also comes out that Beatrice is his daughter!

Rocket Raja (Karthi) is a small time thief who is talented enough to steal anything he comes across. In the company of Kaatupoochi (Santhanam), he enjoys life to its extent and even falls for the charm of a beautiful girl (Tamannaah). However, his life changes forever when a small girl comes to Raja calling him dad. As Raja finds out the girl's past, a flashback reveals that she is the daughter of an honest cop Rathanavel Pandian (Karthi), who is a nightmare to baddies. However, Pandian is now is on the run because his enemies are behind him and his daughter. Eventually, the villains find the whereabouts of Pandian and finishes him off. So steps in Rocket Raja (with the help of Pandian's colleagues who are behind the girl reaching him) into his shoes and finishes the unfinished work of Pandian. He also takes care of his daughter. A roller-coaster ride of fun, joy, camaraderie and romance is what 'Siruthai' is eventually.
