Елізабет - зірка успішного кулінарного шоу та автор кількох кулінарних книг. Але останнім часом її шоу вже не таке популярне, як раніше. Вихід знаходить продюсер телешоу Олександр Ярдлі, побачивши в розділі новин Джефферсона Джонса, який працює звичайним лісником. Джефферсон став відомий завдяки тому, що під час сніжної бурі в горах врятував хлопчика. Зараз Джефферсон мріє про те, щоб для нього хто-небудь спеціально приготував Різдвяний обід. Олександр розуміє, що це шанс повернути втрачені рейтинги, тому вирішує зробити нову телепередачу, в якій Елізабет повинна зустріти Джефферсона у будинку в своєму рідному штаті Коннектикут, нагодувати героя Різдвяних обідом. Але насправді подарунок приготовлений для героя-лісника просто фальшивка - будинок для свята спеціально орендований, члени сім'ї Елізабет - це співробітники її телешоу та її друзі. До того ж, як виявляється сама Елізабет зовсім не вміє готувати. Але що з цього вийде, ми побачимо вже скоро.

Through the help of his friend, a psychiatrist, Paul realizes that his dream is coming true, and that his mother is falling under Curtis's influence. Curtis, in fact, is a homicidal maniac who lives as an out-patient at the sanitarium of the unscrupulous Dr. Muhlbach. When Curtis makes an attempt to marry Paul's mother, Paul intervenes, and after a series of events discovers the truth behind his dreams.
