In a car shop in Rotterdam, three car mechanics find out that the owner of the car shop, their colleague and boss, has a debt of EUR40.000 with the tax service. After unsuccessfully trying several possible solutions, these four beer drinking and cigarette smoking out-of-shape men ask their fifth colleague, a now physically disabled but also former marathon runner, to train them for a marathon. If they finish it, their debt will be paid, if they don't, they loose the garage.

50-річний офіціант із затрапезного бістро тільки і бачить в житті, що скарги від хамських відвідувачів та примхи коханки, що обожнює приходити в його заклад і вимагати до себе особливої уваги у самий розпал дня. Тоді офіціант йде до сценариста, який, виявляється, пише ситком з його життя, і просить замінити коханку на що-небудь пристойніше і дати можливість хоча б пару раз відповісти найнахабнішому клієнтові. In the film, we find out about John's preliminary frustrations, his bizarre encounter with Philips head of Sound&Vision Gerard Wesselinck, their impossible friendship, rivalry and John's armed attempt to force the executive to do penance in public.
