Bajiraos reign as the Peshwa is questioned by those who are supposed to support his rule. To prove his point to Gangadhar, Bajirao announces that he will pay for the loss incurred by the state from his own pocket. Meanwhile, Mastani is given the responsibility of defending the fortress by her father. With time, Bajirao expands his territory and builds a powerful state. This greatly impresses Mastani as Bundelkhand is secured due to Bajiraos exploits on the battlefield.
