Orhan who lived in London for years and did not come back to Turkey agrees to help Deniz -a famous director- edit his first book. Deniz has been living in a mansion with his family which started to lose its old brightness and power. Orhan finds himself in the middle of Deniz's complicated relationships, mysterious friends and stange family members. This is the first movie of Ferzan Ozpetek which is shot in Turkey after a long time. It is also based on his own book which has the same name with the movie.

On the edge of a crumbling city, 11-year-old Alexander lives in a sequestered commune alongside other children, their mothers, and charismatic leader, Gregori. Gregori teaches the children how to raise livestock, grow vegetables, work as a community - and how to kill. With the birth of a new baby brother weighing on his mind, Alexander begins to question Gregori’s overpowering influence on the children and their training to become assassins. Під час підготовки до святкування Різдва мешканці італійського острівця десь у Середземному морі стикаються з серйозною проблемою – немає кому виконати роль Христа-немовляти в обов‘язковій різдвяній виставі. На острові вже давно не народжувались діти, а хлопчик, який грав зазвичай, став задорослим. Є можливість «позичити» немовля у туніської діаспори, але тунісці — мусульмани, тому багатьом ця ідея здається не зовсім канонічною... як італійцям, так i тунісцям. Коли обговорення заходить в глухий кут, черниця Марта і голова туніської діаспори Білал (теж італієць, який прийняв іслам) вирішують взятися до дипломатичних переговорів.
