8.1 Сюжет
20 грудня 1989 року, останні дні режиму Чаушеску. Армія жорстоко придушує повстання в Тімішоарі, проте цю інформацію намагаються приховати. Шестеро випадкових людей опиняються в епіцентрі, навіть не усвідомлюючи цього. Телережисер шукає спосіб врятувати своє новорічне шоу після того, як головна акторка покидає знімальний майданчик. Він обирає театральну актрису, яка ніяк не може додзвонитися до свого колишнього в Тімішоарі. Тим часом син режисера планує втекти до Юґославії, перепливши Дунай. За ним стежить офіцер таємної поліції «Секурітате», який намагається перевезти свою матір з будинку, що мають знести, до нової квартири, яку вона терпіти не може. Переїздом займається робітник фабрики — він панікує, дізнавшися, що його син пише листа Святому Миколаю, в якому розповідає, що батько бажає смерті Чаушеску. Життя героїв, що перебувають під постійним невидимим наглядом «Секурітате», переплітаються в трагікомедії, кульмінацією якої стає неочікуваний вибух петарди, яка призводить до революції.

Over time a number of other lives intersect with hers, including a German officer and then two American servicemen. After weeks of nothing happening, the director, reviewing the footage on the screen, is struck by the photogenic photo of a young girl in an extras scene, which no one can identify. Marina doesn't want to reveal the secret to those on the set because, more pragmatically, her goal is different: admission to cybernetics!
