A drama-comedy about Max, a successful New York-based commercial cinematographer, who is disillusioned and alone. He has a very low opinion of love, romance and emotions. One day Max is contacted by his old childhood friend Peter, who invites him to come to a small Swedish city Hudiksvall and help him make a film about his daughter's friends. Max , who sees this as an opportunity not only to reconnect with his old friend, but to rekindle his lust for life, accepts the offer and leaves the hectic city behind for a nice relaxing summer in Sweden. It is only once Max gets there, he realizes that the main subjects of the documentary film he has promised to shoot, are about disabled persons. A detail that Peter "forgot" to mention. The meeting with the slightly hypochondrical Peter and his disabled daughter and her friends, gradually develops into an unpredictable stay in Sweden that turns Max's world upside down... The actors in the film are from the successful Glada Hudik Theatre, a theatre group with mentally handicapped actors. The Glada Hudik Theatre has made several productions on stage in Sweden performed in films and also had a successful show at Broadway.

When he finally gets a job with the local council/municipality of Hudiksvall his life is about to change. Suddenly Alex finds himself the leader of a local theatre group of people with learning difficulties. Through their work together, Alex comes to appreciate that we all have our own talents which can grow if given the opportunity and support. "The Importance of Tying Your Own Shoes" is based on the work of the Glada Hudik Theatre whose performances have met with success in Sweden and internationally since it was formed in 1996.

Förkväll was a Swedish daily talk show that started airing in 2006 on TV4 in January 2011 the last episode was broadcast before the show was cancelled.Förkväll focused on life style and popular culture and is an attempt to compete with the SVT show Gokväll, but for a younger demographic.
For the first season, the hosts were the model and reality show star Carolina Gynning, singer and actress Kayo Shekoni, journalist Alexandra Pascalidou, comedian and radio show host Carina Berg and author Mari Jungstedt. In the two first season was the program broadcasting live from Stockholm Central Station. Among the guests have been Victoria Silvstedt, Kjell Bergqvist, Helena Bergström, Andreas Wilson, Anna Book, Måns Zelmerlöw as well as internationally acclaimed stars such as Irish boy band Westlife.
On 23 March 2007 it was revealed that TV4 was about to cancel Förkväll after its season finale the same day. TV4 got a storm of emails and phone calls from angry viewers and TV4 says to Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet and Expressen that they are now instead planning a third season later this year. On May 24 the decision was made to cancel Förkväll. The reason was economical and that Carolina Gynning didn't want to continue with the talk show. Carolina Gynning and Carina Berg will be hosting the audition part of Idol 2007 in Sweden.
