Сюжет

Паразити - істоти, прибулі на Землю з космосу. Вони вселяються в тіла різних тварин, включаючи людину, і прагнуть проникнути в їх мозок. Потім паразит поглинає тіло жертви і перетворюється на істоту, що виглядає як захоплене тіло. Якщо ж паразит не зміг відразу проникнути в мозок своєї жертви, трансформації піддасться тільки та частина тіла в яку паразит зумів потрапити. Навіть якщо потім перешкоди на шляху до мозку будуть усунені, паразит так і залишиться частиною тіла.

Сюжет

Ізумі Шін’ічі - найзвичайніший підліток, який навчається в старшій школі. Але одного разу його тіло захоплює стороння істота і встановлює над ним контроль. Життя Ізумі тепер більше нагадує кошмар з постійною боротьбою за нормальне існування, ніж життя простого школяра. З недавнього часу на Землю стали проникати космічні паразити дивного вигляду, які через вуха або ніс можуть забиратися в людське тіло і видозмінювати його. Так сталося і із Ізумі, але паразит не зумів оволодіти мозком хлопчини, тому узяв контроль над його правою рукою. Тим часом в школу, в якій вчиться головний герой, приходить нова вчителька на ім'я Реко Тамія. І з'являється ця жінка не просто так - паразити опанували не лише її тіло, але і мозок, тому за допомогою Реко вони збираються спостерігати за Шін’ічі, який надто багато знає про цих космічних істот.

Сюжет (англ.)

Kanako, a beautiful girl and one of the best students at school, goes missing with all the belongings left behind in her room. Her father Akikazu is now asked by his ex-wife to look for their daughter. He starts a desperate search of Kanako using any means, in the hope of getting his "ideal" family back in place despite the fact that the very reason of the family breakup was because of his problematic personality and behaviors. Following tracks of her past and present and talking to her "friends," he starts to get to know his daughter whom he never knew or didn't even attempt to know. When Akikazu is led to one clue, he realizes the world Kanako was facing beyond his imagination...
