Сюжет
Недолугий маніяк у білій масці тероризує місто, вбиваючи недоумкуватих підлітків. Особливо налякані шестеро тінейджерів: психопат знає, що минулого літа вони збили машиною (і пограбували) незнайомого чоловіка. Єдиною, хто здатна врятуватись від загадкового злочинця, є Сідні Кембелл, дочка місцевого наркоторговця... Несподіваний успіх у публіки стрічки, знятої темношкірим актором та режисером Веянсом («Цей брудний негідник Шейм»), довів, що пародія на відомі фільми може бути не менш популярною, ніж самі об’єкти глузування. Невибаглива картина з 19-мільйонним бюджетом тільки за перший тиждень прокату принесла 42 млн. доларів, зайнявши за підсумками року сьоме місце у списку кінохітів 2000 р. (загальна сума її зборів у США сягнула 157 мільйонів). Проте шалені прибутки аж ніяк не свідчать про дотепність стрічки, у порівнянні з якою не надто вишукані «Аероплан» і «Гарячі голови» здаються зразками інтелектуального гумору.
