Високо в засніжених горах, удалині від цивілізації, поруч із мальовничим озером, з усіх боків оточеним непроглядним лісом, живе родина — два брати із сестрою і їхньою сліпою матір'ю, а зрідка з міста приїжджає батько. На багато сотень кілометрів навколо безроздільно править бал сувора дика природа. Старший брат, Алексі, страждає приступами епілепсії й дуже прив'язаний до своєї молодшої сестри. Їх близьким залишається лише мовчазно спостерігати за їх дивними, майже патологічними відносинами.
