Події розгортаються в добу Сенґоку, коли Ода Нобунаґа майже завершив об’єднання Японії. На півдні озера Біва стрімко поширюється загадкова релігія Кінмекьо (Кінмей-кьо): невірних нібито вражає жахливе прокляття, а страх і чутки підточують владу. Щоб з’ясувати правду і зруйнувати змову, Нобунаґа таємно залучає елітних ніндзя.
