Сюжет

Харизматичний та імпульсивний доктор Люсьєн Блейк повертається у рідне містечко Балларт. Після смерті батька Блейк має успадкувати його справу — бути коронером й розслідувати вбивства. Завдяки медичним знанням та незвичному підходу він визначає причини смертей у найзагадковіших обставинах. Доктор Блейк справжній фахівець своєї справи, проте його методи та прямолінійність дратують місцевих. Місто його дитинства змінилося — довкола лише брехня, плітки та злочинність. А на вулицях 1959 рік: люди ще не відійшли від жахів Другої світової війни й намагаються пристосуватися до нового світу у тихому передчутті майбутніх катаклізмів. І серед цих потрясінь доктор Блейк намагається пролити світло на темряву.
