Luke Atkins and Captain Dan Saunders are ranchers in Piute Valley and are at odds with each other over a dam that Atkins is constructing to help the valley people. Their feud does nothing to help the romance of Saunders' son, Sheriff Ron Saunders and Atkins' daughter, Susan . The opposition to the dam that Saunders has led, makes him the prime suspect when the banker who is going to lend Atkins the money for the project is murdered, and Sheriff Saunders is forced to arrest his father. But Steve Brandon, mostly in his guise as the Durango Kid, does a bit of snooping and begins to suspect that the local storekeeper has an interest in more than just selling groceries.Written by

Another in the series of Don Barry starring films (who NEVER used Don 'Red' Barry as his billing except in his series of Republic westerns from 1940-44 and the serial "The Adventures of Red Ryder"), financed by Robert L. Lippert and produced by William Berke all as A Donald Barry Production in the late 40's and early 50's, this one pretty much follows the semi-inaccuracies and myths found in the vast majority of the films about Billy the Kid, while adding a narration - a trend found in many B-westerns of this period evidently under the mistaken impression it would add some class to the proceedings. It didn't. And having a 38-year-old actor play an outlaw who died when he was 21 gave Barry an opportunity to darken his hair to nearly black and pull out, what appears to be, the forelock hairpiece he used for the Red Ryder serial in 1940 to make him look more like the character as drawn by Fred Harman. It didn't make him look much like the real Billy the Kid, though.Written by

When they make the decision to return to New York earlier than expected, they find they are being detained by the military in the country they are in. Ultimately, they learn the reason is that President Raoul Farrago, the tyrannical military dictator of the country, has been diagnosed with a brain tumor and will die without an operation to remove it, Farrago choosing Gene as the doctor to lead the surgical team. Because of the volatile politics within the country and for his own safety as revolutionary forces would like to see him dead, Farrago refuses to go to a hospital for the operation, instead it to be done at his home. Despite not particularly liking Farrago or his ways, Gene agrees purely in his oath as a doctor. However, he ends up being caught in the middle between Farrago/his brutal regime and the revolutionaries, each side who is willing to use him and Helen to get what they want, namely the life or death of Farrago.Криза (1950)
