Екранізація однойменної манги, що виходила з 1996 по 1999 роки, як завжди має оригінальний нюанс. Наразі дивакуватий герой, смішно кричачи і тужачись, може створювати енергетичні кульки і робити ними дірочки в банках, і цим тішитися разом зі своїми шанувальниками. Але швидко з'являється той, хто робить кулі з футбольний м'яч, а згодом – з футбольне поле, і може вбивати політичних лідерів, і анігілювати будинки та цілі райони з людьми.І ця сила існує вже століття, маючи за місцем народження маленьке село. Проблема в тому, що вона дико міняє людину, перетворюючи її на монстра. І не тільки ззовні. Фантастика в "Країні…" не про марвелівське жонглювання, а про соціальну відповідальність і наслідки своєї нестримної сили, яка шкодить власнику не менше, аніж супротивнику... Перша сцена в серіалі, з XIX сторіччя – це натяк на можливість перетворити "Шьоґун" на наукову фантастику.
