Це рок-н-рольна фантазія про 1950-і роки.Фільм розповідає про ефект звільнення з народженням рок-н-ролу.
Стрічка показує будинок для втікачів підлітків і сиріт. Підліток з найгіршою репутацією і намірами постійно вступає в конфлікт з керівником закладу, що виховує важкою працею.
Тут же є і вчитель музики, хіпар, що обігнав свій час і знайомить учнів з забороненими принадами рок-н-ролу. Поза школою він проводить час з власницею танцювального клубу, що не личить йому як вчителю, а їй як колишній дівчині шерифа.
