The fictional Father Ãngel de la Cruz is based on Legion of Christ
founder Marcial Maciel, whose long history of child abuse was not
addressed until 2006 and only publicly acknowledged in 2009.
But director Luis Urquiza chooses to structure his film through the
largely uncomprehending, wondering eyes of 13-year-old JuliÃ¡n, who
travels from the arms of his loving pastoral family into the austere,
hallowed halls of the seminary. Singling out the boy as his intimate
disciple, installing him in his palatial private quarters and redubbing
him â€œSacramento Santos,â€ Father Ãngel begins Julianâ€™s instruction
into the mysteries of â€œperfect obedience,â€ whose cardinal rule is:
Never question a superiorâ€™s actions.

The photographer of war Teo Arroyo returns to his hometown and meets his girlfriend Victoria in a hotel. However, two men break in his room, one to kill him and the other to protect him and Victoria is also shot and dies. Before dying, his protector asks him to hide. When Teo goes to his home, he finds that his dog Zeus was also murdered. Teo meets a young woman, Miryam, who helps him to hide from the police detectives and from the killers that are hunting him down. Teo finds that a sect is killing the thirty people that have been chosen by God to protect the world and he is the last chosen one alive. Will Teo escape from the religious organization?
