«Токсичний месник» - «візитна картка» легендарної студії «Трома», творці якої давно й міцно володіють титулом «Королів незалежного кіно». На цьому фільмі вчилися режисурі Тарантіно й Пітер Джексон. По місцевому оздоровчому клубі тиняється Мелвін Джанко, слабак, невдаха, об'єкт знущань і глузувань.
Він так дістав своїм бридким видом Слага й Бозо, що ті викинули його у вікно. Джанко падає в балію з токсичними відходами. Але він не тільки вижив в отрутних відходах, але й мутував у кращу сторону.
