«Чи боїшся ти темряви» - американсько-канадський телесеріал у жанрі жахи. За задумом, раз на тиждень в таємному місці в лісі біля багаття зустрічається група підлітків, які називають себе «Товариством опівнічників» (англ. The Midnight Society ). Вони всі ходять до різних шкіл і не є близькими друзями один для одного. Один із них розповідає іншим якусь страшну історію. Іноді в коло приводять новачків. Кожен, перш ніж почати розповідь, говорить «З дозволу «Товариства опівнічників» я назву цю історію...», потім бере невеликий мішечок і виймає з нього жменьку цукру, яку жбурляє в багаття. Багаття від цього, ясна річ, яскраво спалахує, а на його тлі з'являється назва історії (сам оповідач в цей момент зачитує її вголос).

Giant IXL Corp CEO Teague thinks the flare won't happen and wants the mission to fail so he can buy the planet cheaply while the scare lasts. Employee Haas prepares a surprise for the astronauts. While daddy Steve Kelso commands the space ship where temperaturs rise, granddaddy Admiral Skeet Kelso is searching the desert for grandson Mike who's gone AWOL to say goodbye to his dad but who inadvertently crossed the path of the guys from IXL after meeting desert-dweller Travis.
