ід час показового танцю левів "Школи Женг", лев "Школи Лу Женгфу" раптово уривається в танець і своєю поведінкою провокує бійку, що призводить до сварки двох шкіл.Учень "Школи Женг" Йінлін (Роберт Мак) та учень школи "Вубен" Вонг Фей Хунг (Гордон Ліу) два кращих друга - вирішують помірятися силами, але, щоб не битися один з одним, вони вибирають серед перехожих "качка", і хто з них швидше поб'є качка - той сильніше.
Правда і Йінлін і Фей Хунг в таємниці один від одного підіслали людей, щоб ті підкупили "перехожого". Але "перехожий" (Джонні Ванг) виявився міцним горішком і, замість того, щоб піддатися, побив Йінліна. Мало того, цей перехожий виявився майстром бойових мистецтв з північного Китаю, спеціально прибулим в Кантон на запрошення Лу Женфу, який за допомогою гостя хоче позбутися від шкіл-конкурентів.
