Марися звертає увагу на двох дівчаток з свого класу: самовпевнену і живу Касю та красиву й багату Єву. Марисі належить багато що пережити під впливом Касі і Єви. Дівчина відкриє для себе мистецтво, віддалиться від власної сім'ї з її консервативними поглядами і пізнає для себе новий світ матеріальних цінностей.
