William Fitzgerald finds himself shipwrecked on an island whose native inhabitants have recently fled. His civilized host, the secretive Dr. Charles Girard, explains that they were superstitiously fearful of his scientific work. Now the only people on the island are the castaway, the scientist, his voluptuous wife, his sleazy assistant, his beautiful native servant and her young son. But there may be one more man on the island: it's all a matter of philosophy and semantics. It seems Dr. Girard is surgically transforming a panther into a human being. The trouble is, the creature is not above killing members of the species he has recently joined.

His civilized host, the secretive Dr. Charles Girard, explains that they were superstitiously fearful of his scientific work. Сюжет
Шері, чиї мрії про Голлівуд і славу перериваються реальністю міста Фенікс. У кафі "Синій Дракон" у Феніксі ми знайомимося з Бо, веселим ковбоєм, що приїхав у місто брати участь у родео. Він грубо змушує своїх гучних дружків замовчати, коли співає Шері, й одержує в нагороду безневинний поцілунок подяки. Із цього моменту він рішуче настроєний взяти її за дружину, незважаючи на всі її протести й презирство його вірного дружка Верджила. Шері навіть сідає на автобус, щоб бігти з міста, але Бо відправляється слідом. Автобус заносить снігом, і пасажири змушені провести ніч у кафе, де відбувається бійка між водієм автобуса, що захищає пасажирку, і ковбоєм, що вимагає цю жінку. Бо зазнає ганебної поразки, він принижений. Наступного дня, коли буря закінчилася, Бо починає розуміти, що нічого не досягне, діючи як скотина.
