The Paschke family decided to go to the country to relax for a while. They want to have alternative recreation on a farm, lead a simple country life and earn their living from the work of their hands. Uncle Otto (Helmut Holger) is elected president, while the rest of the family members throw themselves into their new jobs with great enthusiasm. However, the Paschkes soon realize that the simple life and unfamiliar activities have their pitfalls. So the arrival of a traveling artist comes in handy for a change.
