Detective Will Jeffries give fellow Detective Nick Vera a ride home. Will stops in a convenience store for milk as Nick had drank the last of Will's milk at work. Sitting in the car, Nick hears gunshots and races into the store to find the store owner dead and Will bleeding on the floor. The store owner, Pops, had helped Will go straight in his youth, so this was more than just a stop for milk, it was also a friendly hello to a valued friend. The team finds this is more than a simple robbery as young toughs feature into the crime.
