In the first of a pair of Brahms Proms, the Chamber Orchestra of Europe conducted by Bernard Haitink, perform Brahms's Third Symphony and Piano Concerto No 1. Haitink describes the COE as 'a group of exceptionally talented musicians', which would also apply to the soloist who joins them in the second half, pianist Emanuel Ax.
