Проте згодом він відзначився надзвичайною хоробрістю у битвах з загарбниками.Екранізація другого роману трилогії Сєнкєвіча ("Вогнем і мечем", "Потоп", "Пан Володиєвський") . Єжи Гофман є режисером фільмів по всіх трьох романах, але хронологічно екранізація почалася з фільму "Пан Володиєвський " (1968) , потім "Потоп", і "Вогнем і мечем " (1999).
