Луїза та Габіно відвідують своїх літніх батьків у глухому шахтарському містечку на півночі Мексики. У будинку панує напружена атмосфера — цілком очевидно, що жоден із присутніх не має бажання перебувати на цьому «святі життя». Намагаючись відволіктися від сімейних дебатів, Габіно уявляє паралельну реальність з поліцейськими, бандитами та фатальними красунями, де кожному члену сім'ї уготована власна роль.
