ХVI століття. За наказом іспанської корони 80 шляхетних дівчат відправляються до Нового Світу – в Асунсьйон, щоб вийти заміж за конкістадорів і народити від них дітей. Таким чином влада хоче зупинити їх сегрегацію з аборигенами і відтворити там іспанський уклад. Проте, ніхто не очікував, що подорож розтягнеться на 6 довгих років.
