Міо Мегуро — сором’язлива дівчина, яка звикла приховувати свої справжні почуття, щоб не бути відкинутою. Після невдалих стосунків і втрати роботи її життя руйнується. Вона знаходить притулок у дивному спільному будинку, де мешкають йокай — надприродні істоти. Нові сусіди допомагають їй вирішувати проблеми, іноді дуже радикальними способами.
