Цсян Лівей (Гуан Сяомінґ) – наймолодший керівник спеціального пожежного батальйону за всю історію пожежних бригад провінції. Під час гасіння пожежі зухвалий Цсян ігнорує протоколи місії, що призводить до вибуху газу, від якого гине молодий пожежник. За це його позбавили звання та понизили до керування маленьким та непримітним підрозділом у передмісті Донґшань. Натомість керівником спеціального батальйону пожежників назначали Ма Вейґуо (Ду Цзян), його заступника. Одного дня Цзян Лівей отримує екстрений виклик з пожежної частини міста. Стався вибух на нафтобазі Бінґанґ у районі міського порту. Усі пожежні команди міста та провінції були мобілізовані для гасіння пожежі. Цзян Лівей повинен забути про свої образи та об'єднатися зі своїм колишнім підлеглим Ма Вейґуо заради порятунку міста.
